Set the House in Order
David gathered gold, silver, bronze, wood, plans and workers. Then he handed the assignment of building the Temple of God forward. That’s leadership. Kingdom people don’t need their names engraved on everything they helped build. Sometimes obedience means starting. Sometimes it means finishing. And sometimes it means setting the house in order so somebody else can carry the work further.
David didn’t say, “If I can’t build it, nobody will.” He said, in essence, “Solomon, here’s everything I’ve gathered. Now build.” Perfect government understands stewardship. Friend, I want to encourage you to take inventory. Is your house in order? What would happen if God asked you to hand something forward? Hold the assignment tightly enough to steward it well but loosely enough to surrender it. After all, we’re building His house.
Grounded In Faith
Father, bring Your order into everything You’ve entrusted to me. Teach me to steward well without claiming ownership over what belongs to You. Give me humility to prepare others, wisdom to organize what matters, and grace to release assignments when seasons change. May I build faithfully, hand things forward generously, and always remember that the house and the glory belong to You. Amen.
