Safe with Him
David could have asked for anything. Victory. Wealth. A longer reign. More territory. Instead, he said, “One thing.” I want to dwell with God. That’s astonishing coming from a man with a kingdom to run. David had discovered something behind the veil: God’s presence wasn’t simply a place to visit when life became difficult. It was home. It was safe. David wasn’t perfect. His story contains spectacular victories and heartbreaking failures. Yet beneath everything was a man continually turning back toward God. He knew where home was.
There is a depth of relationship available to people willing to linger. Jesus opened that way completely. The veil was torn. Access was given. You don’t need a perfect performance to approach Him. Come through Christ.
So, come on in. Stay a while. Let the noise settle. Let the King remind you who you are. There’s room behind the veil.
Grounded In Faith
Father, make Your presence my home. Draw me beyond hurried prayers and distracted worship into deeper fellowship with You. Thank You that Jesus has opened the way for me to come near. Quiet every competing voice and teach my heart to linger. More than answers, blessings, or outcomes, I want You. Let the one thing become the first thing in my life. Amen.
