1 Chronicles 22:5

So David prepared abundantly before his death.”

Brew On This

If your life were a storehouse, what inheritance would the next generation discover inside? What are you intentionally depositing today that will outlive you?

Daily Devotional

Storehouses

David’s greatest legacy was preparing a generation to love the Lord after he was gone. Though David longed to build the Temple, God gave that assignment to Solomon. Instead of becoming discouraged, David spent the remainder of his life gathering gold, silver, timber, skilled craftsmen, musicians, and worshipers. He filled the storehouses so the next generation could build what he would never see with his own eyes.

Faith was never intended to end with us. Our culture often celebrates what can be built in a lifetime. God celebrates what can bless generations.

What are you placing in the storehouses? Words of wisdom? A legacy of forgiveness? A family that knows how to worship? Children who know the Scriptures? A life that demonstrates faithfulness? These are riches that never lose their value. One day, someone may stand in the blessing because you quietly chose obedience today. Build generously. Love extravagantly.

Grounded In Faith

Lord, thank You for every generation that has faithfully passed Your truth to me. Help me become a wise steward of the inheritance You have entrusted to my care. Let my life leave behind faith, hope, courage, and love that point others to You. May the generations after me know Your goodness because I chose obedience today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
