Mark 4:39
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

What storm have you accidentally allowed to become a greater authority in your thinking than the King who rules over it?
Daily Devotional
Peace, Be Still
Chaos had a King standing in the boat. When He stood and spoke, the storm obeyed. “Peace, be still.” Perfect government means everything is rightly ordered under the authority of the King. Jesus does not struggle for authority. He has it. Sometimes our circumstances become so loud that we begin treating chaos as though it has the highest seat of authority. It does not. Fear is not king. The storm is not king. Jesus is King.
Peace comes from knowing who governs the sea. There may also be storms inside us that need to hear the King’s command. Jesus still says, “Peace, be still.”
Do not confuse stillness with inactivity. Stillness can be an act of tremendous faith. It says, “I refuse to let this storm govern me.” Let Jesus establish His order. Let His Word outrank your emotions. Let His authority become bigger than what surrounds you. The boat may rock. The wind may howl. But the King is still aboard. And chaos still has to answer to Him.
Grounded In Faith
King Jesus, establish Your perfect government in my heart and circumstances. Speak peace over every place where fear, anxiety, confusion, or chaos has tried to rule me. Teach me to trust Your authority even when the storm does not immediately stop. Order my thoughts according to truth and steady my spirit in Your presence. You are Lord over every wind and wave, and I choose peace. Amen.
