Luke 4:29
“They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill…”

What “mountain” in your life feels like resistance, but might actually be preparation for promotion?
Daily Devotional
Push Back
the Mountain
Mountains are not just landscapes—they are places of pressure, resistance, and decision. In this moment, rejection tried to push Jesus off the hill. But what man meant for harm, God was positioning for authority.
Mountains in Scripture often represent opposition, but also elevation. What tries to push you down can actually become the place God prepares to lift you higher. In the life of King David, mountains showed up as giants, caves, and battlefields. But every mountain became a testimony that God was stronger than what stood against him.
Here’s the Kingdom truth: you are not called to fear the mountain. You are called to speak to it, stand on it, and overcome it. The enemy always tries to take you to the edge, but God always has a plan beyond the edge. What looks like a push toward destruction is often the setup for divine preservation and promotion.
Don’t panic at the mountain. Proclaim over it. Because what tries to stop you may actually be the place God uses to show His glory through you.
Grounded in Faith
Lord, strengthen me when I face mountains of resistance.
Help me not fear opposition, but trust Your higher purpose.
Give me faith to stand, speak, and overcome.
Turn every attack into advancement and every obstacle into opportunity.
Let Your strength lift me above what tries to push me down.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
