Psalm 118:17
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”
Brew On This
What fear would lose its power over you if you truly rested in the reality that Jesus has already conquered death?
Daily Devotional
Because
He Lives
The grave looked final. Then Sunday morning happened. Because He lives, death no longer gets the final word. Biblical rest is not pretending there are no battles. It is knowing the outcome belongs to God. David understood that kind of confidence. He faced enemies, betrayal, grief, warfare, and seasons when death seemed frighteningly close. Yet again and again, he returned to the faithfulness of God.
Some valleys feel endless while you are walking through them, but valleys have exits. Jesus entered the greatest darkness humanity has ever known and walked out carrying the keys. Because He lives, you can rest even when you do not understand what God is doing. Rest is not weakness. It is confidence in the finished work of Jesus. You do not have to keep fighting battles He has already won. Lay your head down. Breathe. The tomb is empty. The King is alive. And because He lives, you can face whatever tomorrow brings.
Grounded In Faith
Jesus, thank You that You conquered death and walked out of the grave victorious. Teach me to rest in what You have already finished. When fear whispers that darkness will win, remind me that the tomb is empty. Lead me through every valley with confidence in Your presence. I place my life, future, family, and eternity into Your hands. Because You live, I will live without fear. Amen.
