What wounded place in your heart have you protected from everyone, including the God who wants to love you there?

The Shadow That Heals

There is a shadow you do not have to fear. David knew it well. He wrote about hiding beneath the shadow of God’s wings. That is the language of closeness. Protection. Belonging. Love. We often imagine healing happening dramatically. Sometimes it does. But some of the deepest healing happens quietly while we remain close to God.

His love begins touching places we have kept guarded. Rejection. Abandonment. Disappointment. Shame. We learn that God is not standing over us waiting for another mistake. He is inviting us closer. David was a warrior, but warriors need refuge, too. Strong people need somewhere safe enough to become honest.

You are loved because love is who God is. Come closer. There is healing beneath His wings. Stay near Him long enough to discover what David knew. The shadow of the Almighty is a very safe place to heal.

Grounded In Faith

Father, draw me beneath the shadow of Your wings. Let Your perfect love reach every wounded, guarded, and fearful place within me. Heal rejection, shame, disappointment, and every lie that has distorted how I see myself. Teach me to receive love without striving to earn it. Let my identity become rooted in belonging to You. Keep me close until love has finished its healing work. Amen.
