See How Courageous

In the arena of Promised Land living, you never see what God has given you until you are willing to walk in it first. In other words, you have to be able to walk in it before you get it.

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory. Deuteronomy 11:24

When God told Joshua to cross the flooded Jordan River and go into the Promised Land, He did something different than when they left Egypt to cross into the wilderness. Both involved a miraculous crossing of water. Who can forget about Moses and the parting of the Red Sea?

But here at the gateway to the Promised Land, a different courage and trust was required as the key. The water didn’t part first like it did when they crossed the Red Sea. This was the Promised Land, and there was a new set of rules: they had to step into the water first. They had to start pursuing the Promised Land before the waters ever parted.

If you want upgrade, if you want blessing and more of Jesus, the way does not present itself until you move toward it. You have to step into it first.

…and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. Joshua 3:15-16
