Matthew 13:13
“This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.”
Brew On This
How is God speaking with you today?
Time for a Tune Up
Jesus says in Matthew 13:13 that some see but don’t perceive, hear but don’t understand. That tells us something powerful: God is speaking—but not everyone is tuned in. Heaven isn’t silent. The question is whether our hearts are positioned to hear.
Before David was ever crowned, he learned how to listen. In the fields, in the caves, on the battlefield—David didn’t move until God spoke. That’s why he didn’t just fight like a king; he heard like one. Kings hear the voice of God because authority flows from intimacy. You can’t rule what you won’t listen for.
Jesus makes it clear: “My sheep know My voice, and another they will not follow” (John 10:27). Hearing God isn’t reserved for the elite—it’s the birthright of the anointed. If you belong to Him, His voice is familiar to your spirit.
Today, ask God to fine-tune your ear. Turn down the noise, the fear, the opinions, and lean into His whisper. Then—this part matters—put it into action. Obedience sharpens hearing. Every yes strengthens clarity.
God is speaking. Kings listen.
Grounded In Faith
Father God, give us ears to hear your voice today.
Quiet every voice, noise or distraction that is not of you.
Give us the courage to trust what You say and obey without delay.
Teach me to listen as a king and move in confidence with You. Amen.
