1 Chronicles 29:11
“Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head overall.”

How can you develop a culture of honor in your life?
The Posture of a King
Honor in God’s Kingdom is never self-produced; it is received, stewarded, and ultimately returned to its rightful source. King David understood this deeply. Though he was a warrior, a king, and a man of great influence, David consistently honored God by acknowledging that every victory and blessing came from the Lord. Standing before the people, David declared, “Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor… Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head overall.”
David’s life reveals that honoring God is not about perfection, but about posture. When he defeated Goliath, David refused to take glory for himself, proclaiming that the battle belonged to the Lord. When he became king, he danced before the Lord with abandon, caring more about God’s pleasure than public opinion. Even at the height of his reign, David reminded the nation that wealth and honor did not originate from human strength or leadership, but from God alone: “Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things.”
Like King David, we honor God when we recognize His sovereignty, walk in humility, and return all glory to Him—acknowledging that in His hands true strength and power resides.
Grounded In Faith
Lord, we recognize that every ounce of greatness, strength, and honor flows from You.
Shape our hearts to steward what You have placed in our hands. May our lives be poured out as honor to you.
In you we move and breathe and have our being. Amen.
