Psalm 139:23–24 NKJV
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Brew On This
Are there places in your heart you’ve been managing on your own instead of surrendering to God for inspection?
Model of a Searched Heart
When King David prayed, “Search me, O God,” he was giving the Lord permission. He was giving Him access. That’s what Kingdom people do. We understand that heart stewardship means releasing control and allowing God to bring alignment and purpose, instead of trying to manage or fix everything in our own strength.
David teaches us something powerful: the safest place for our hearts is in God’s hands.
Not hidden. Not protected by pride. Not covered up by excuses. But fully surrendered.
When you ask God to examine your heart, He doesn’t come in like a drill sergeant. Instead, He comes in like a surgeon. He exposes what needs to be removed and strengthens what needs to stay. Heart stewardship is trusting that the One who searches you is also the One who guides you, grows you, and works all things together for your good.
This is why David grew into a man after God’s own heart. He was fearless in his honesty before God. He consistently invited divine inspection so he could walk in divine direction.
Steward your heart the same way. Let the Lord show you what’s Him and what’s not and lean into what’s ready to be transformed. Because when God has complete access to your heart, He can release the fullness of His purpose in your life.
Grounded In Faith
Father, search my heart and lead me.
You reveal to heal. You correct to direct.
I welcome Your leadership as You align my heart with Your purpose.
I am safe in Your hands.
