Justice at the Gate
In ancient cities, the gate was more than just an entryway. It was the place of power, the courtroom, the marketplace, and the town hall. Decisions were made there. Justice was either upheld or denied there. Spiritually speaking, you and I have been placed at the gate.
God has positioned you—yes, you—in places of influence such as your family, workplace, ministry, and city. You are not there to be silent. You are there to speak truth, bring justice, and release righteousness. The enemy wants to intimidate you into silence, but the Lord is calling you to stand firm.
Justice is not just a legal term; it is a Kingdom principle. It means setting things right, defending the poor, giving voice to the voiceless, and restoring the broken. This is what happens when the people of God take their place at the gate.
One of the gates I’ve been called to stand in is the fight against human trafficking. It’s evil in its purest form, and it thrives in silence and darkness. Through our ministry, we rescue girls and boys from slavery, and we declare that justice belongs to them. We don’t just pray; we act. We speak up, we intervene, and we bring the light of Jesus into the darkest places. That’s what it means to establish justice at the gate. You may not be called to rescue physically, but you are called to stand spiritually. Your prayers, your voice, and your obedience matter.

I am called to the gate. I will not shrink back. I hate evil and love good. I will establish justice in the places God has given me influence. I declare that righteousness will reign, truth will be spoken, and the Lord will be gracious to His people through my obedience.
