Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 107:1 NLJV
Thankful Heroes
Celebrating Thanksgiving Day dates back to 1621, when the Pilgrims had completed their first harvest in the New World. The Pilgrims were also called Quakers because when the Holy Spirit would hit them, they would shake. They were made fun of and persecuted in England because of their faith. They left Plymouth, England, and began their pilgrimage.
I went to England and walked the actual “Pilgrim Steps” they had taken to reach their boats. There were one hundred and twenty Pilgrims, and that’s very prophetic. One hundred and twenty in the Bible means God is showing up and changing everything.
It took Noah 120 years to build the Ark – then God showed up and changed absolutely everything. Moses was 120 years old when he died – God showed up, changed everything, and led everybody into the Promised Land. King Darius appointed Daniel over 120 princes, and he changed the whole world. According to Scripture, 120 people were in the upper room when the Holy Spirit showed up and changed everything.
They took a six-month trip in a horrible little boat, and the first thing they saw was a rock that looked exactly like the rock in Plymouth. They knew the Lord was saying this was the place. When they were putting a flag on the ground, out came an Indian who spoke English. He was the one who helped them know how to grow food in this land. Instead of going to war with the local natives, they teamed up with them. After the harvest, they all gathered and had a three-day feast.
We have carried on this tradition throughout all these years, my friends. It is important to set aside time to focus on what you are thankful for. Be thankful that the Lord is with you like He was with the Pilgrims, and for the way He provides all you need.
If He has something new for you, walk out the steps that will take you there. Watch for His signs, stay true to your faith, and produce a harvest for Him. And always, always be thankful!

Declare!
The hand of the Lord is on my life. I am grateful for all the ways He has shown up and changed things for me. Through all the changes, He provides everything I need to live an abundant life. My heart overflows with gratitude for His goodness and His love.
