Psalm 18:19
“He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.”

What might God be asking you to shut down, release, or reset so He can begin something new?

Anybody who has stared at a frozen computer knows the feeling. You click everything. Nothing moves. Finally, somebody says the deeply technical words we all know so well: “Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on?”
David experienced multiple new beginnings. From shepherd to warrior. From fugitive to king. From Hebron to Jerusalem. From failure to repentance and restoration. God kept moving David forward. Eight represents new beginnings, and Scripture is filled with a God who specializes in them. The enemy loves to tell us that because something ended badly, nothing good can begin again. That is simply not the Gospel. Jesus makes all things new.
There is something wonderfully hopeful about starting again with God. His mercies are new every morning. So shut down what needs to end. Release what needs to go. Then let the King restart the system.
Grounded In Faith
Father, thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. Give me courage to release seasons, habits, disappointments, and expectations that have reached their end. Restore what You desire to restore and close what needs to remain closed. Breathe fresh life into my relationship with You. I surrender yesterday and receive the grace You have provided for this new beginning. In Jesus’ name, amen.
