Covenant Love
Covenant love isn’t based upon scenery. God doesn’t love you more on mountaintops and less in deserts. His love isn’t increased by your performance or diminished by your difficult season. It is rooted in who He is. David knew applause could disappear. Positions could change. Friends could betray. Children could rebel. Kingdoms could shake. But God’s covenant love remained.
David discovered that if everything else disappeared and God remained, he still possessed the greatest treasure. So stop measuring God’s love by today’s circumstances. Look at the covenant. Look at the cross. Look at Jesus. The wilderness may be temporary. His love isn’t. And once you know you’re loved by the King, you stop begging lesser kingdoms to tell you what you’re worth.
Grounded In Faith
Father, root me deeply in Your covenant love. When circumstances change, remind me that You do not. Free me from searching for identity and worth in temporary things. Let Your love become the safest and strongest truth in my life. Correct me, lead me, protect me, and hold me close. Your lovingkindness truly is better than life. Amen.
