The King is
in the House
For years, David had been the anointed king without being the seated king. When the appointed day came, David took the throne, and something shifted. Government matters because whoever occupies the throne establishes the order of the Kingdom. That’s true nationally. It’s also true personally. The real question is: Who is sitting on the throne of your life?
We can invite Jesus into the house while still trying to keep the throne for ourselves. Kings have authority. Kings issue commands. Kings establish order. David’s kingdom flourished when he sought God and suffered when he stepped outside God’s order. Even a good king needed a greater King. So do we.
Jesus isn’t campaigning for your vote. He is King. And when the King is in the house, everything else must eventually come into alignment. Perfect government begins when Jesus is not only present, but enthroned. Open the doors. Hand Him the keys. Let the King walk through every room. There’s tremendous peace in finally surrendering the government of your life to Someone infinitely more qualified to run it. The King is in the house. Let Him reign.
Grounded In Faith
King Jesus, take Your rightful place in every area of my life. Govern my thoughts, decisions, relationships, resources, and future. Show me where I have welcomed Your presence but resisted Your authority. I surrender the keys again today. Establish Your righteous order within me and let my life become a place where Your will is gladly done. Reign in me, Lord. Amen.
