Romans 8:37

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Brew On This

What step of obedience have you delayed because staying in the boat feels safer than trusting Jesus on the water?

Daily Devotional

Out of

the Boat

Peter got out of the boat. We remember that he sank, but before criticizing Peter too quickly, remember that eleven other disciples stayed dry. Sometimes victory begins with getting your feet wet. Peter said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come.” Jesus answered with one word. “Come.” Peter stepped out. That is faith with movement attached to it. Overcoming victory does not mean you never wobble. It means Jesus is greater than what tries to take you under.

Peter looked at the wind and began sinking, but when he cried out, Jesus immediately reached for him. Your moment of weakness does not cancel your act of faith. Reach for Jesus. Victory is not found in pretending the storm is calm. Victory is knowing who stands above it. There comes a point when the safety of the boat becomes more dangerous than obedience outside it.

Grounded In Faith

Jesus, give me courage to move when You say come. Keep me from confusing comfort with safety or fear with wisdom. When my eyes drift toward the storm, turn them back toward You. If I stumble, remind me that Your hand is near. Teach me to overcome through faith-filled obedience and to trust that whatever You call me into, You will meet me there. Amen.

Pray-A-Latte
