Psalm 51:10

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Brew On This

Where do you need to draw a clear line and decide, with God’s help, “I am not going back”?

Daily Devotional

A Line in

the Water

Israel crossed the Red Sea and Egypt could not follow them into their future. Joshua crossed the Jordan and a wilderness generation gave way to a people possessing promise. There are moments when God says, “You are not going back.” The flesh does not like lines. The flesh likes loopholes. It says, “Just once more.” “One little compromise.” “Nobody will know.” “I can handle it.” David discovered the terrible cost of allowing desire to cross boundaries God never authorized. But David also discovered redemption. When confronted, he repented.

There comes a time when repentance must become more than sorrow. It must become a boundary. Draw the line. This ends here. Jesus did not redeem you so you could spend your life standing ankle-deep in Egypt, wondering whether you should return. The flesh may remember the old country, but your spirit knows where home is. You belong to the King now. There is freedom on this side of the water.

Grounded In Faith

Jesus, thank You for redeeming me and calling me out of bondage. Strengthen me where my flesh is weak and give me courage to establish godly boundaries. Show me where I have left doors open to things You have called me to leave behind. Wash my heart, renew my spirit, and lead me forward. By Your grace, I choose freedom over familiarity. Amen.
