Fruit Times Two
You can tell a lot about a tree by its fruit. Jesus said so. David understood it too. Psalm 1 paints two completely different lives. One is planted beside rivers of water-rooted, fruitful, and flourishing. The other tree is like chaff, blown away by the wind. Same world. Different roots.
Fruit eventually reveals what has been happening underground. That’s why God cares so deeply about where we are planted, what we are feeding upon, and whose counsel we are receiving. David’s life produced beautiful fruit and, at times, some rotten fruit too. So does ours. But the good news is that God is a faithful Gardener.
Stay connected to the Vine, my friend. Stay planted by the River. Stay rooted in the Word. And when you do, fruit comes. 9/9 reminds us of the fruit bearing times two and seeing God multiply the fruit He has cultivated in us. Get ready for multiplication!
Grounded In Faith
Father, plant me beside Your living water. Examine my roots and remove anything producing unhealthy fruit in my life. Prune me where necessary and nourish everything that comes from Your Spirit. Teach me to abide in Jesus and remain rooted in Your Word. May my words, choices, relationships, and reactions reveal that I belong to You. Amen.
