Re-Purposed
David had a way of turning unlikely things into Kingdom things. A shepherd’s staff became the equipment of a king and years in the wilderness, years that probably felt like detours, became preparation for the throne. God wastes nothing. As we look at David’s life, we begin to notice something beautiful: God was present in every part of his story.
We often understand our lives by looking forward. We want to know where we are going, why we are here, and how the pieces are going to fit together. But David’s life reminds us that sometimes meaning only becomes visible in hindsight. His years with sheep taught him how to care for people. His battles with lions prepared him for giants. His time in the wilderness taught him things that couldn’t have been learned on a throne. What looked random was becoming preparation.
What looks like a detour to us may be preparation in the hands of God. He is working in the pieces we don’t yet understand. God wastes nothing. He can re-purpose the pieces of your life and bring about His Glory in your story.
Grounded In Faith
Father, gather every scattered piece of my life and bring it under Your authority.
Redeem what needs redeeming and repurpose what You desire to use.
Unite my heart with Yours and teach me to see my history through the eyes of Heaven.
Nothing surrendered to You is wasted.
Make my life useful for Your Kingdom and Your glory. Amen.
