The Heart of The Matter
The fear of the Lord is not about cowering in terror; it is about standing in awe. It is a holy
reverence that treasures God’s presence above every earthly pursuit. It is waking each day
with the conviction that His voice carries greater weight than the applause of people, that His approval is worth more than the world’s acceptance. The beauty of God’s covenant is that it never ends with one generation. His blessings and promises ripple outward, touching sons and daughters, grandchildren, and generations yet
unborn. David’s love for God became part of a Kingdom story that ultimately pointed to
Jesus, the Son of David, our Redeemer and King.
The same principle is true for us today. Our children inherit far more than our possessions.
They watch how we respond to hardship, how we worship when life is difficult, how we pray when answers seem delayed, and how we honor the Lord when no one else is watching. They learn what we truly value by observing what captures our hearts. Live today with eternity in view.

Lord, let holy reverence shape every decision I make.
