Blood, Fire, and Pillars of Smoke
On the fourth day, God filled the heavens with lights to govern the day and the night.
Throughout Scripture, four reminds us that God is always creating, restoring, and bringing
life where there once was emptiness. Peter declared that the last days would be marked by
blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.
The blood reminds us that Jesus paid the price for our salvation. The fire represents the Holy Spirit, purifying hearts and igniting holy passion. The pillars of smoke remind us of God’s faithful presence, just as He led Israel through the wilderness with the cloud by day and the fire by night. The Lord is still creating something beautiful today.
Our Creator specializes in new beginnings. Wherever His Spirit moves, dead things begin to breathe again. Don’t fear His refining fire. It never destroys what belongs to Him. It reveals it.
Grounded In Faith
Father, thank You for making all things new.
Wash me in the blood of Jesus,
refine me with Your holy fire, and lead me daily by Your presence.
Continue creating Your character within me so my life reflects Your glory to everyone around me. Amen.
