Life is a Highway
There’s something about an open Texas highway that stirs the soul. You don’t stare in the rearview mirror for very long when you’ve got miles of promise stretched out in front of you. David lived that way. His life wasn’t a straight road. Yet every mile was under the watchful eye of the Good Shepherd. Even when David couldn’t see where the road was leading, God already knew every turn.
Jesus said He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. The enemy builds prisons; Jesus opens gates. One traffics in bondage, while the other invites us onto the King’s Highway. Some folks keep pulling over to revisit old failures. Others camp beside yesterday’s heartbreak.
Friend, don’t build a house where God only intended you to pass through. Keep moving. Keep trusting and keep your eyes on the horizon, because God is far more interested in your destination than your detours.
Grounded In Faith
Father, thank You for leading me along the path of life.
Break every chain that keeps me tied to my past and help me embrace the abundant life You have prepared for me.
Give me courage for today’s journey and confidence that You are directing every step. In Jesus’
name, Amen
