TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

As you stay firmly planted in His Word, you will not be up rooted. In fact, your roots will grow deep and your branches will bear fruit. Your storehouses will be full to overflowing.

MINING FOR PROSPERITY

There is so much hidden in scripture. It truly is a gold mine, which means you have to dig for its treasures. Like this little gem from the book of Exodus, which the Jews call the book of Names:

These are the sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah, Issachar, Zebulun. and Benjamin Dan, Naphtali, Gad and Asher. All those who were defendants of Jacob were seventy persons, for Joseph was in Egypt already. And Joseph died and all of his brothers and that generation, but the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly. They multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty, and the land was filled with them. – Exodus 1:2-7

While it may look like a meaningless accounting of names, it is anything but! There is a promise here to dig up. What we know is the sons of Jacob moved to the land of Goshen in Egypt. Along with their wives, children and servants, their number was a scant 70 people. Add in Joseph’s family and you have 75.

Those 75 Jews multiplied like jackrabbits and the Bible says they became “exceedingly mighty and the land was filled with them.” That’s prosperity!

The Bible tells us Jacob was so honored by the Egyptians, they even gave him a name that meant “savior of the world.” They cherished his family as their own. Isn’t it cool how God can make an enemy into family? That’s also prosperity!

Up until verse eight, we have a picture of God prospering the Jewish people in the midst of another society, just like He wants to prosper you and me. Then the curtain falls.

There arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. – Exodus 1:8

Boom! Despite God’s blessing and prosperity, the enemy worms his way in to do what he does best – lie, steal, kill and destroy. It has been that way since the fall and it will continue until Jesus comes back and kicks some demonic backside.

So what do we do until then? We let God prosper us! We welcome His blessings and chase after Him to get all the blessings we can. Then, when the devil stomps around in our lives, we are not easily shaken and have blessings and prosperity to share with others. Prosper me indeed!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PROCLAIM YOU WILL BE SO PROSPEROUS. THE DEVIL CANNOT KEEP YOU FROM BLESSING OTHERS. MAKE HIM MAD TODAY!
