TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

We all like looking at other people to make ourselves feel better by saying, “Well at least I am not as bad as Sister Susie Rottenheart.” But the reality is we have all sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. So the playing field is always level at the foot of the cross. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse your stinking thinking. Create in me a clean heart oh God. And focus on how Jesus can work in your life and then Sister Susie is not so bad.

BLAME THE HYPOCRITES

The most used excuse for not attending church, or even failing to believe in God, is because “Christians are such hypocrites!” Really?

While it is true, there is not a Christian alive whose talk matches their walk perfectly, think about this: there is not a person, Christian or not, who has never acted out of character or stepped out of line. Yes, we are all hypocrites.

The truth is, churches are filled with people. Though they want to follow God and do the right thing every time, they are going to fail. People, in church or out, are going to hurt you and disappoint you, so why would you let that keep you from a solid relationship with God?

There is no such thing as the perfect church. If you find it, don’t go there because you’ll mess it up!

Likewise, there is no such thing as perfect people.

As Christians, we try to live differently and be better than we used to be. Unfortunately, when we wear the mantle of Christ follower, those who aren’t, judge us more harshly because we dared to step up and proclaim that we want to live by a higher standard. They then use that as an excuse to reject not only church, but Jesus Himself.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:3-5

Don’t let that be you! Understand that churches are full of fallen people just like you. Even elders, deacons and pastors mess up and hurt people. It is our mistakes that should bring us together and our willingness to strive for the heart of Jesus that should keep us that way.

Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.
– Proverbs 4:25-27

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LET GO OF PAST HURTS OR DISAPPOINTMENTS WITH CHURCH AND THOSE IN IT. FOCUS ON JESUS – THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH.
