TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

As busy as life is, it is easy to be sacrilegious and stay in bed on Sundays. But if you make an effort to get up and seek Jesus you will find Him. Jesus committed Himself to the cross for your betterment, so why not go worship Him and find out what His plans are for you. (Matthew 16:24-26.)

THE LIE OF “I DON’T HAVE TO GO TO CHURCH TO BE A CHRISTIAN”

It’s Sunday morning and sister Suzie Rottenheart, a bedtime Baptist, rolls over to hit the remote and join the chapel of the tube. Why should she go to church when she can watch it on TV and get just as much out of it as a walk in the woods?

Why, it’s not Christmas or Easter so in bed she will stay! After all, she works for a living and Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. Sister Suzie is no genius, but one refuted her way of thinking over five hundred years ago.

“Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity and cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the rigors of the mind.” – Leonardo da Vinci

Are you missing in action? Know someone who is?

I can remember seeing John Wayne’s last movie, “The Shootist,” back in the day. In it, he explained that the mountains were his church and he did not need to darken the doorway of a building to worship the Lord. At the time, part of me said, “Amen!”

Now, mind you, I also gave him an amen when he said, “I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a hand upon. I don’t do these things to other people and I require the same from them.” This statement is the reason he wouldn’t go to church. His creed of “I will not be wronged or insulted” wouldn’t allow him to be submitted to Godly relationships.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
– Hebrews 10:24-25

The Christian life is hard enough without going it alone. Upgrade, new revelation, the testimony of others, support through hardship and service are just a few of the faith-builders you are missing. Think of your faith as a roaring fire. If you pull a single coal out of the flames, it doesn’t take long before it’s cold and useless.

That’s not you!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET BACK IN THE GAME AND BE A WORKING PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHOSE FAITH IS GROWING COLD, INVITE THEM TO WARM UP IN THE SEAT NEXT TO YOU!
