TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD
God is showing you how to cast down thoughts by replacing them with His Word. God is pleased to call you a “sharp-shooter” as you pull the Word out to shoot down those thoughts!
INTRUDER ALERT!
There are two major myths about your mind. The first, is that your brain didn’t come with an instruction manual. The truth is, it did – the Bible. The second myth, is that you are not responsible for your thoughts.
That line of thinking says you are an animal, akin to a smart ape with a cool thumb, and animals are not responsible for their thoughts. They are ruled by instinct and so are you. Who told you that?
There is nothing worse than a man who will not defend his property. A thief breaks into his house, begins to take whatever he wants and the pathetic coward is balled up under the covers of his bed. When his wife asks, “Why did you let that stranger ransack our home?” the reply is pitiful. “Because I can’t be held responsible for who comes in here.”
Would that fly with your spouse? Not if they have a lick of sense!
You are right. It is not your fault you are being invaded. It is your fault, however, that you won’t defend your property!
You see, you have to fight for what God has trusted you with, and it’s the same with your thinking. Your thoughts shape who you are, and you are responsible for who you are. Cicero likely didn’t know he was agreeing with God when he said, “The mind of each man is the man himself.”
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”
– Proverbs 23:7
BAM! Make up your mind the same way your mom used to have you make up your bed. Straighten it out! You are responsible for defending your mind against random thoughts that do not glorify God. There are a lot of things you wouldn’t let in your home, yet a lot of the thoughts you let in your head would not be welcome on any piece of property you own!
You are responsible for defending your thinking against mental intrusions! Pick up your gun (the Word) and blast that devil from hell who is breaking into your head! Defend yourself because it makes God sorry you were even born when you refuse to protect your mind. Read why God wiped out the people of Noah’s generation:
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth…”
– Genesis 6:5-7
A sure-fire way to grieve God and bring His wrath down upon you, is to refuse to be held responsible for what and how you think. It just doesn’t fly.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR THINKING. WHEN RANDOM, UNGODLY THOUGHTS BREAK IN, CAST THEM OUT AND REPLACE THEM WITH A THOUGHT OF GOD’S GOODNESS OR WORDS OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING. DEFEND YOUR MIND AGAINST THE SERPENT! IF YOU RESIST HIM, HE WILL FLEE.
