For the King
Real service eventually costs us something. Time. Money. Comfort. Reputation. Convenience. Sometimes it costs us the privilege of getting the credit. David wouldn’t build the Temple. Solomon’s name would forever be associated with it. David gave anyway. That’s redemption in action.
A redeemed life eventually becomes a life poured out for somebody else. God heals us, then sends us toward hurting people. He teaches us, then gives us someone to teach. He rescues us, then puts a rope in our hands. The goal isn’t merely to finish our own race. It’s to make the road clearer for whoever comes next.
So here at the end of the month, maybe the question isn’t, “What can God do for me?” Maybe it’s: “King Jesus, what can I place in Your hands?” Open your hands. Give Him your gifts. Your story. Your resources. Your remaining days. Everything. Whatever your hand finds to do-do it- For the King.
Grounded In Faith
King Jesus, everything I have ultimately belongs to You. Take my gifts, resources, experiences, influence, time, and story and use them for Your Kingdom. Show me who I can strengthen and what I can prepare for those coming behind me. Let redemption flow through my service. May I finish with open hands, a faithful heart, and my affection set fully upon You. Amen.
