A Time
Like This
Knowing what to do without understanding timing can create unnecessary battles. A good thing done in the wrong season can become frustrating. David learned this repeatedly. There was a time to tend sheep. A time to face Goliath. A time to run from Saul. A time to wait. A time to fight. A time to become king. And eventually, a time to hand the kingdom to Solomon. Wisdom recognizes seasons.
Friend if there was a time to pray for the Holy Ghost—it is now. Don’t curse winter because it isn’t harvest. Don’t demand fruit from something God is currently pruning. Don’t keep standing still when spring has arrived. Ask Him: “What time is it?” Then ask the second question: “What should I do?” God isn’t confused about your season. He knows exactly where you are on His calendar. Walk closely enough with Him to recognize when the season changes. There is a time for everything. And there is grace for the time you’re in.
Grounded In Faith
Father, give me understanding of the times and wisdom to know what I should do. Keep me from running ahead, falling behind, or clinging to seasons You have completed. Teach me to recognize Your timing and move when You say move. Give me grace for today’s season and faith for the one ahead. I trust Your calendar for my life. Amen.
