Psalm 130:5

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.”

Brew On This

If the thing you have been praying for arrived tomorrow, would you be spiritually and practically prepared to steward it?

Daily Devotional

People Get Ready

Waiting is not the same thing as doing nothing. Ask Noah. Rain had never fallen the way God described, but Noah built anyway.  Ask the ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Five understood that expectation requires preparation. Biblical waiting has work clothes on. David waited years between the oil of anointing and the crown of kingship. He did not spend those years sitting beside the road complaining that Samuel had apparently gotten it wrong. David served. He fought. He worshiped. He learned.

Some promises take time because God is not only preparing the promise for you. He is preparing you for the promise. If you believe He is opening a door, become the kind of person who can steward what waits on the other side. Expectation without preparation is merely wishful thinking. Waiting with God is different. The King keeps His appointments. Your job is to be ready when He arrives.

Grounded In Faith

Father, teach me to wait with expectation and prepare with faith. Keep me from becoming discouraged when Your timing differs from mine. Use this season to develop character, wisdom, endurance, and readiness within me. Show me what I should be building while I wait. I place my hope in Your Word and trust Your appointed time. When the door opens, let me be ready to walk through it. Amen.

Pray-A-Latte

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7 NLT
