Light the Lamps
Darkness is powerful until somebody turns on the light. God loves us too much to leave us stumbling around in rooms where He has already provided a lamp. Truth is mercy. We sometimes fear exposure because we assume God’s purpose is humiliation. It isn’t. His light reveals what darkness has been hiding so that healing can begin.
David eventually prayed, “Search me, O God.” Truth may sting initially, but lies keep us imprisoned. When God illuminates something in your life, don’t run for the dimmer switch. Light doesn’t only expose what is wrong. It also reveals what is true. It shows you the door. The pathway. The next step. The face of the One who has been standing beside you all along. You don’t have to be afraid of what truth reveals when you’re walking with the One who came full of grace and truth.
Grounded In Faith
Lord, light my lamp and illuminate every dark place in me. Give me courage to welcome truth instead of hiding from it. Expose what needs healing, correction, repentance, or release. Then show me the pathway forward. Let Your Word become a lamp to my feet, and keep me walking openly in the freedom of Your grace and truth. Amen.
