Licensed to Heal
Even after the crown rested upon his head, David remembered the lonely hillsides, the lion and the bear, the cave at Adullam, and the mercy God had shown him when he least deserved it. Because David had received mercy, he became a man who extended mercy. That is the heart of redemption.
In Scripture, thirty often marks the beginning of public ministry. Joseph stood before Pharaoh at thirty. David became king over Israel at thirty. Jesus began His earthly ministry at about thirty years of age. Before God sends us out, He prepares us within.
A word of encouragement, a meal shared with a stranger, a prayer offered in faith, a hand reaching toward someone who has fallen, these are kingdom assignments. We have been given a holy commission, not merely to speak about Jesus, but to carry His heart wherever we go. Every believer has been entrusted with a “license to heal” through compassion, forgiveness, encouragement, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Grounded In Faith
Father, thank You for redeeming my life and inviting me into Your work. Open my eyes to those who need hope today. Fill my hands with compassion, my mouth with encouragement, and my heart with Your love. May I faithfully represent my King wherever I go, bringing healing, peace, and redemption in Jesus’ name. Amen.
