Acts 5:2

“With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money…”

Brew On This

Is there a place where I am tempted to present appearance instead of truth before God and others?

Daily Devotional

A Faithful Witness

There is a sobering moment in Scripture where love for God is tested by the love of self. In this account, a husband and wife are given space for truth, space for honesty, space for integrity before God. Yet together, they choose concealment over confession, appearance over authenticity, and agreement in deception instead of agreement in righteousness.

This passage reminds us that God is not only interested in outward giving—He is after the heart behind it. The issue was not the amount given, but the dishonesty wrapped around it. They had an opportunity to be faithful witnesses of truth, but instead became witnesses of compromise.

Yet even in this hard word, we see both the mercy and the justice of God.

His mercy is seen in the opportunity itself. God does not rush to judgment—He gives space for repentance, space for truth, space for alignment. He invites His people into honesty before Him because He desires restoration, not destruction.

But His justice reminds us that truth cannot be mocked. A Kingdom built on deception cannot stand. God is not moved by appearance—He weighs the heart. And what is hidden before men is never hidden before Him.

Kingdom people are called to a higher standard: to be faithful witnesses. Not perfect people, but honest ones. Not performers, but those who walk in truth even when it costs something. Integrity is not optional in the Kingdom—it is the foundation of trust with God.

This is not about fear of punishment, but reverence for holiness.

Today friend, let your life be a true witness—transparent, surrendered, and aligned with truth.

Grounded In Faith

Father, I come before You asking for a clean and honest heart.

Remove every trace of deception, pride, and hidden compromise in me.

Teach me to walk as a faithful witness of truth, even when it is uncomfortable.

Let my life honor You in sincerity and reverence.

Thank You for Your mercy that calls me back and Your justice that keeps me aligned. Amen.
