Psalm 91:1

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Brew On This

Is there a time of day when you can stay a little longer in His Presence? Can you abide under His shadow?

Abiding: Under the Shadow

God never designed you to be a passerby in His presence. You were created to dwell. To remain. To live under the shadow of the Almighty where heaven touches earth and fear loses its voice. Abiding is not a spiritual concept—it is a relational posture. It is choosing proximity over performance and presence over pressure.

The shadow of the Almighty speaks of nearness, covering, and protection that comes from staying close to God. A shadow can only be experienced when you are near the one who casts it—so this phrase implies intimacy, not distance. It represents God’s protective presence, where His power becomes a shelter rather than something to fear.

The secret place is not hidden because God is elusive; it is hidden because it is sacred. It is where your name is spoken correctly. Where orphan thinking breaks. Where striving ends and sonship begins. In that place, God settles what the world keeps stirring. He reminds you who you are and whose you are.

Under His shadow is where strength is restored, identity is anchored, and destiny is protected.

Grounded In Faith

Father, set me apart for your purposes today. I linger here with you under your shadow. I trust you to restore my soul in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
