DO YOU HEAR WHO I HEAR?
Jesus took the twelve disciples to Caesarea Philippi. When seen through our prophetic lens, the name of the place speaks of many things we will miss if we don’t open our eyes to see.
In this story, we find God going to the temple of a guy who calls himself “god.” We see the King of the Jews going to a place built by a man who was supposed to be the king of the Jews, but he hated them. In that demonic place, He asked His disciples to tell Him what the world was saying about who He was. Then He asks the most important question, “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.” Matthew 16:16
Jesus turned and said, “Simon, son of Jonah,” the name Simon means “shifty,” so he is saying he is not very solid. Then, He points out that he comes from Jonah’s bloodline. In effect, He is saying, “This revelation doesn’t come from you or your bloodline. My father has personally spoken to you. So, now I will change your name to Peter.” In that moment of divine revelation, Jesus knew His disciple had moved from shifty to rock solid.
“It is upon this rock that I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail upon it.”
No one is a Christian unless they hear the Father speak. The personal revelation that comes through Jesus from the Father creates you as a prophetic person when the Father reveals His heart to you.
So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Going to Strong’s, we find the Greek word translated “word” in this verse is rhḗma; which means a spoken word, made “by the living voice.” It is the Lord speaking His dynamic, living word to birth a person’s faith.
If you have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have heard God. When you hear and obey God, He can use you to build His Church and expand His Kingdom on Earth.
Declaration: My soul says, Speak, Lord, your servant is listening. I rejoice that the God of the universe created me so that He can have a relationship with me. It is exciting to know that He has a plan and a purpose for me to be used to build His kingdom.
