PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17 NKJV
Some of you have worked yourself into a frenzy getting every detail finished so you can have the perfect Christmas with perfect gifts. How many times have things not gone your way? How much joy has that robbed from you?
The first Christmas was far from perfect in the natural. Mary and Joseph traveled for miles, walking and riding on the back of a donkey; there was no nice place for them to stay in Bethlehem, and Mary gave birth in a stable.
It was, however, perfect in every way when seen through spiritual eyes. The message of hope, peace, and salvation through Jesus Christ that came down to man at Christmas 2,000 years ago is still perfect. It reminds us of God’s immense love for humanity, demonstrated through the birth of His Son, who came to bring light into the darkness, reconcile us to God, and offer eternal life to all who believe.
Don’t let yourself lose your mind when things don’t go your way. Let the Word of God help you deal with the disappointments of life. Ask God to give you an anointing for mercy in stressful situations. Make a clear and definitive stand in your thinking that you will have a mind that glorifies and belongs to the Lord in every way.
Your brain has teeth. If you do not command, restrain, and control it, it will chew your life to pieces. You can forget about fighting the devil or overcoming the world until you get real about dealing with what is between your two ears. Take back your God-given mental turf. Focus on the message in the Word and take back your joy.
Declaration: My mind aligns with the will and the way of the Lord. I have no agenda or any details that are worth losing the joy My Savior made available to me. This holiday season my heart’s desire is to bring glory to the Lord by the way I live. He is the answer to all my questions and all my plans.
