STEWARDS NOT OWNERS
Guys, you gotta believe that you and I are not owners of anything. Jesus Christ owns everything. There is a reckoning that is coming when you say, “You know this is mine, right?”
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him. Psalms 24:1 NLT
I would also say a temporary accountable charge is something that you and I need to be thinking about. It means that just because I don’t own it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be held accountable for it. I have a temporary accountable charge by King Jesus Himself concerning every single thing that He has trusted me with. That includes the thoughts in my head, the things within my heart, my walk with God, my finances, the fights that I fight, my relationships, the battlefields that I get on, and how I drive home today. I have a temporary accountable charge, and I have been given it from King Jesus Himself. One of the things that I can say about God Almighty being the Owner and you and I just being the steward is that we need to know the vineyard belongs to the Lord. The workers belong to the Lord. The harvest belongs to the Lord.
When it comes to every parable that is about how all of this works, it all belongs to the Lord. And I would say the day is going to come when I’m going to have to give my life back to King Jesus. Unless, you know, the trumpet blows. I’m going to have to give my life back to the Lord. And the Lord is going to say, “Troy, this is what I gave you.” I cannot give Him the same thing He handed to me back to Him.
For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ Matthew 25:29-30 NKJV
Declaration: I am grateful for the amazing things God has brought into my life. Today will be a day of praise for all He has done and all the opportunities He has given me. I will use everything I have to honor Him and accept the temporary accountability charge He has given me to take care of all He has entrusted to me.
