TRUE LOVE DEMONSTRATED
What do you think of when you think of love? Many of you will think of your significant other, many may think of their family members or friends. What I think of is the greatest love of all, God’s love.
John 3:16 (NKJV): For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 shows us how much God loves us. Because God is love, and all who live in love live in God, then God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows closer to perfection, just as God’s love is.
When judgment day arrives, do not be afraid. We can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear.
Let’s shift to the worldview of love now. Today is February 14th, Valentine’s Day in the United States of America. February 14th every year stands for “Love.”
Everyone has a space in their heart that needs filling with love. So much so that “Valentine’s Day is the fifth largest consumer spending event in the United States. People have been estimated to spend over 23 billion on Valentine’s Day,” according to thebalancemoney.com.
Wikipedia tells us, “Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine. Through later folk traditions, it has also become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many world regions.”
Do you see How different the worldview and God’s view are regarding love? Today, I challenge you not to focus on the worldview but on God’s view. This Valentine’s Day fills that void in someone’s heart with true love. Honor God, your spouse, children, family, and friends, but most of all, Honor God!
DECLARATION: I will recognize the sacrifice God made for me and will remember to honor the people who mean so much to me. I will celebrate my love for them and God.
