Deuteronomy 11:26 (NKJV) – “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse.”We come face to face with choices daily, and God allows us to make those decisions on our own. There is freedom that comes with free will, and it is a gift from God. Today, lets consciously go after our blessing by choosing to honor the Father in everything we do.

Declaration: I declare that I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and highly favored of the Lord because I heed His commandments and obey. I am not bound by the law of sin and death, but I have entered into the new covenant through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father God, for writing Your law on my heart so that I may follow Your statutes. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
CHOOSE LIFE

We cannot be ignorant of the consequences of our decisions. God Almighty declares that through the principle of sowing and reaping, we will either experience death or everlasting life. (Galatians 6:8) He is so good to give us the freewill to make a choice. He does not intend for those of us that love and serve Him to do so in the bondage of slavery. However, sin does.

King Jesus tells us in John 8:34 (NKJV), “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” The apostle Peter drives this home in the second book of his epistle when He writes, “for by what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved.” – 2 Peter 2:19 (NASB) No wonder Paul implores us, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21 (NKJV)

Friends, this is not a game. We cannot afford to be enslaved to sin and overcome by the ways of death. What is our avenue of escape? Well, reading further along in the book of Deuteronomy we’ll come across chapter 30 where Moses writes, I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. – Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)

Almost like a professor handing out the answers to an upcoming test, Moses doesn’t leave it up to our guesswork. He outright tells us to choose life. My friends, choose Jesus.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. – John 1:4 (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me. – John 14:6 (NKJV)
