TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBEROctober 7, 2023 – 10/7/2023I Samuel 10:7 (NKJV)And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.

The timing of the Lord can be mysterious to us. We do not know the hour, but we see in 1 Samuel 10:7 that when signs come to us—and they will—God is with us to interpret the timing and the context in which they appear. Often, we will encounter a sign and not know what to do with it. The Lord instructs us that when we see a sign, we are to respond as the occasion requires. The Lord teaches us that the Holy Spirit will provide interpretation and guide us into all truth! We serve as witnesses for His truth to be fulfilled on the earth, and in this process, we have the privilege of witnessing these signs.

Engaging in prayer and expressing gratitude during those moments of encounter will allow us to cultivate a deeper relationship and bring us understanding with the Lord. The sign may not be “the word” itself, but it may offer direction, just as it did for the wise men at Jesus’ birth. The sign serves as confirmation of the word already given to us. Keep moving forward; your journey is not yet complete. God is with you!

Declaration: Father, I thank you for every sign and wonder. I pray for eyes to see and ears to hear your signs and wonders. Father, surround me with your understanding, mercy, and wisdom. Help me to have the faith to walk alongside you through every sign and wonder you set before me.
Rise up Faithful Creatures
I Samuel 17:45 (NKJV)Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of the Lord.”
When I think of David, I find it difficult to believe he just woke up one day and chose to defeat a lion or a bear. When I read the scripture above, I can see that God was training him to respond to the enemy. The God of angel armies was right there to help him and, out of that, created a warrior. He taught David that being by God’s side was a warrior posture. Being a faithful creature requires the confidence of the Lord to believe you can defeat a lion or a bear, or in the case of 1 Sam. 17:45, Goliath. David is used many times to exemplify defeating the forces of the enemy, but he had to get that confidence from somewhere.
I will tell you where he got it and maintained it: at the feet of the Father!

David spent years, just as Moses did in the wilderness, seeking the face of the Lord. Calling to Him and listening intently to what He was told. He was diligent and faithful to listen and hear the voice of many waters encourage him in his faith. When David was ready, like a good soup with all the ingredients established within him, God tested the Truth in him. Teaching him to rely on his faith, and that God would be with him when the moment of TRUTH came. Sometimes, it is scary to step out, but it is required to defeat the lion or the bear. We have to be willing to be the target so the Father’s sheep might be protected. God was creating in David the path of a leader, and God protects His anointed!

It says in the word about Joseph that “Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.” (Ps. 105:19) We cannot be discouraged when we are tested for our faith. Even so, the Lord was with Joseph, guiding and directing him on a very specific path. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of the Lord. (Rom. 10:17) Sitting with the Lord, listening for his voice, and following his guidance is imperative. It is important that we remain in faith even when we encounter our lion, our bear, or our Goliath or when people simply sell us out. We cannot know all the plans of God to deliver us into our land of Goshen in the proper season. But being faithful to hear the voice of the Lord in the dry season will save you when the real enemy steps out of the shadows to attack all that is precious to you.

Rise up, faithful creatures of the Lord! You will execute fully all the plans that God has for you with Him by your side!
