TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER – 3/12/2023
Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
When you do something in the name of Jesus, let goodness be the face with the name. You get to demonstrate His character through selfless acts of mercy and service. How people are treated in Heaven should be how people are treated on this earth. Do you love God and people?
Declaration: I demonstrate Jesus in all I do. I extend mercy to those who need it just as the Lord gave His mercy to me!
THE MIDST OF THE MESS
There are a lot of people I want to meet when I get to heaven. I have so many questions and I imagine having them answered would give me a complete picture of God’s amazing grace.
I wonder if Joseph ever asked Mary if she was sure that God said she was blessed and highly favored. I’m sure he wondered if it was necessary for them to go through all the hell of shame and rejection. I may not know if he actually thought about that, but I do know this: it was necessary.
It’s funny how western civilization portrays the birth of Jesus in such a positive way. Beautiful nativity sets that show pristine, sterile conditions of a perfect Joseph, Mary and baby.
Three perfect wise men and three perfect little animals around and one perfect angel. When you see this, you’re going to go, “How beautiful.” And that’s the way we need to remember it, but it’s not the way it was.
Remember that Jesus was born in the midst of a terrible mess, and remember that’s what makes it perfect.
When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. – Luke 2:17-19
