TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER – 2/20/2023

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

What do you live by? Live by the living Word every day. Otherwise, fear, disappointment, and rejection will steal the very life you were called for. You become truly alive when you die to yourself and the things that want to control you.

Declaration: I live by faith, not walk by sight. As Christ lives through me, I will represent Him in spirit and in truth.

WHICH SIDE OF THE CROSS?

When I look at the curses in the Old Testament, I see that over in the New Testament there are also curses and blessings. However, I recognize there is a stark contrast between one side of the cross and the other side.

What we’re talking about is the difference between justice and mercy.

On the one side of the cross, before Christ, if you do everything right, God will be good to you. If you do anything wrong, God will show His wrath. On the side of the cross after Christ, what God Almighty offers you mercy. This is because Christ bore all of our sins on the cross. He took all God’s wrath upon Himself – ALL!

The Old Covenant was never the answer to man’s problems, only the mirror for us to see our sinful nature. At the right time, God made a New Covenant and it’s a huge upgrade from judgment for what we deserve, to mercy which we don’t deserve.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. – Hebrews 8:8-10

Before Jesus, sacrifice was required for the forgiveness of sin. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice and those who accept Christ as Lord and Savior have no need to make sacrifices anymore.

The purpose of the “law” was to show men we couldn’t keep the laws, that we need God. Still, we tend to run back to the law because keeping rules and checking the boxes is all we know. There’s a better way!

Run to the Cross. Find your Savior there and tell Him you accept His sacrifice. Lay down your life and know that it is finished. Mercy has won the battle for your eternal life.
