TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER – 2/12/2023
2 Peter 2:12 – But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption.
Does an animal have a mind, will, and emotions? Yes. If you allow your mind, will, and emotions to lead, you will end up acting like a stray animal. You will go after what you want and run from things you fear. That kind of life brings bondage. Be ye holy! The Holy Spirit gives supernatural power, love and a sound mind to those who seek it.
Declaration: I’m led by the Spirit of God. My soul belongs to Him and I bishop it by the Word of God.
Tribal Counsel
When Solomon’s son Rehoboam became king over all Israel, he took the foolish counsel of his peers over the wise counsel of the elders. This led to a civil war between the tribes that never resolved. It split the nation in two leaving Rehoboam as King of Judah and the smaller Tribe of Benjamin.
Rehoboam’s northern rival, Jeroboam, worried the 10 northern tribes of Israel would realize they couldn’t worship God the way they were supposed to since Jerusalem and the temple were in the southern kingdom of Judah.
So, the knucklehead built two golden calves – his own altars – and his own priesthood. He compromised the whole kingdom’s identity and purpose. God had warned the tribes that if they pursued other gods, they would become subject to them. Ultimately, that’s what happened and the tribes were bitterly divided and lost.
To illustrate how strong the need for a tribe is, when King Saul ran David out of Israel, away from the presence of God, David pleads,
“If the Lord has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering, but…they have driven me out this day from sharing in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods.’” – 1 Samuel 26:19
He needed his people and the presence of the Lord.
“Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.” – Psalm 51:11
Tribe gives you identity and purpose. It tells you who King Jesus is to you and who you are to King Jesus. It’ll tell you when you’re with the right people and how to recognize them when you see them.
Jesus’ tribe brings wisdom, experience, skill, and support that enable you to do what you couldn’t on your own. That was a huge breakthrough for me and it can be for you. It’s your responsibility to accept the privilege of stewarding your proximity to the tribe.
I go looking for people I can partner with. One of the great privileges I’ve had in life is getting to do life with extraordinary people all over planet earth. These are my people because they are Jesus people.
Once you know your tribe, stay close. Heed only wise, godly counsel. You won’t be enslaved to someone else’s purpose, especially one that opposes the King.
