Tabernacle: Hebrew word miskan, or “dwelling place.”

  1. Feast of Tabernacles is the only feast that the nations are invited to celebrate.
  2. Gather to remember the Lord’s provision in the Wilderness and look forward  to their promised Messiah’s reign when all the nations will come to Jerusalem to worship the Lord.

THE TABERNACLE IN REVELATION

Revelation 15:5 – After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.

Revelation 21:3 – And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

FEASTS WILL BE OBSERVED DURING MILLENNIAL REIGN

Zechariah 14:16-19 –  And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. 18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

THE TABERNACLE IN THE WILDERNESS

Exodus 25:9 – According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.

Exodus 33:9-11 – And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.

All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and

So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

Exodus 40:34-38 (The Cloud and the Glory) – Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys.

For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Leviticus 23:33-34 – Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord.

Numbers 29:12 (Offerings at the Feast of Tabernacles) – ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work, and you shall keep a feast to the Lord seven days.

Leviticus 26:11 – I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.

1 CHRONICLES 16 – THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID

1 Chronicles 16:1-2 (The Ark Placed in the Tabernacle)

So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.  2 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord

  • OPEN TO ALL 24/7
  • APPOINTED LEVITES TO MINISTER THERE THROUGH PRAYER AND SONG
  • MADE SACRIFICES THERE

Acts 15:16 – ‘After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up;

MOUNT OF TRANSFIGURATION & PETER’S TABERNACLE

Matthew 17:1-3, 5 –  Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him….5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”

WHERE DID MOSES AND ELIJAH COME FROM?

  • Moses wants to see God’s glory—his face.
  • Exodus 33:22, God places Moses in the cleft of the rock, covers him with his hand and passes by.
  • In 1 Kings 19, Elijah is despondent, tired and overwhelmed. Hiding in a cave.
  • God places Elijah in a cleft of a rock and passes by just like he did Moses.
  • Matthew 17:1-5 – Mount of Transfiguration
  • Where were both men standing? Mt. Horeb but they were standing there 800 years apart!
  • DID GOD OPEN UP A PORTAL IN SPACE AND TIME TO TRANSPORT ELIJAH AND MOSES ANOTHER 800 YEARS INTO THE FUTURE TO MEET WITH JESUS ON THE MOUNTAIN WE CALL “TRANS-FIGURATION?”  Were they all standing in the same place, but at different times?

MANKIND AS A TABERNACLE FOR THE LORD’S PRESENCE

Hebrews 9:11 – But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
