The phrase “what you see is what you get,” was a catchphrase popularized by Flip Wilson’s drag persona Geraldine, first appearing in September 1969, then regularly in the early 1970s on The Flip Wilson Show.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
It’s the gatekeeper of the supernatural. To be of any effectiveness to do the Kingdom work we have been called to do, we must be transformed and our minds need to be renewed…
We have been plagued with small-minded Christianity for far too long.
Matthew 14:13-21 – When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Most of us focus on the natural and the temporal. We need to transform how we think.
Well I have heard this. I know I need to think differently. Gotta enlarge that….go for more….take it to a whole new level…. Walk out Isaiah 54:1-4
I love what Paul said to the Philippians
Philippians 4:8 – Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.
We need to have a transformed perspective which comes from how we think. We have to think from a different reality…
From Heaven toward earth, we need to start thinking bigger. Many of us have struggled with limited, powerless and finite thinking. We have been trained—we are skilled in just surviving; as if we are still living in the wilderness because we are conditioned to operate with wilderness thinking.
Honesty examine your life for a minute is the fruit you see extraordinary, abundant, next level, double portion, over flowing or is it barely getting by
Do you have victory or are you still defeated?
Are you overcoming or have you been overcome?
We can no longer live like the enemy on the other side of the Jordan is too big and too powerful to conquer.
Does this sound familiar?
I would love to dwell in the Promise Land. I would love to have that perspective. I would love to be an overcomer but I’m limited. I have this issue, this weakness; I’m not smart enough, not good enough, I don’t have the right skill set.
It really doesn’t add up to what the Bible says.
We have the creator of the Universe living inside us—the mind of Christ thinking through us, and the Spirit of God influencing the world around us. However, we can’t break free from our bondage and addictions. We struggle with poverty. We are not sure God will heal or restore this relationship…or deliver us…or will He really provide in our time of need?
We live our lives thinking from a small, limited, human perspective. Few live life from a Heavenly perspective where anything and everything is possible.
I don’t believe God has given us permission to live with limited mindsets. God has designed our minds to be one of the most supernaturally powerful tools in the universe.
Colossians 3:1 TPT – “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority!”
It’s the decade of the Land Grab in how we think. It’s time we start going after a new, bigger, Kingdom perspective and viewpoint.
So, for the next few minutes, I want to bring to memory some things we already know but need to upgrade and expand our thinking in. We need to get a lens change—a new perspective.
1. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV) – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
We have the creator of the universe living inside us—the One who envisioned everything and spoke the worlds into existence. That’s who lives inside us. We need to upgrade our perspective and our thinking.
2. We have an open door to wisdom
1 Corinthians 12:8 (NKJV) – for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
James 1:5 (NKJV) – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Think of it like this: being a Daniel or Solomon on steroids. But they didn’t have the Holy Spirit living in them. They lived under the visitation of the Holy Spirit. We live under the dispensation of the Holy Spirit—the habitation.
3. We have the mind of Christ
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV) – For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
The Father’s thoughts are not above us because Jesus said, “I only do what the Father does and only say what the Father says,” so we have the mind of Christ. Jesus’ thoughts can be our thoughts because we have His mind. Truth is, we need to lose ours and grab ahold of His. What if we started thinking bigger? What if we saw every circumstance the way Jesus does?
Well, doesn’t the Bible ask the question, “Who can know the mind of the Lord?” In Romans 11:34, Paul is quoting a passage from Isaiah 40:13 in the Old Testament. Remember, they did not have the habitation Holy Spirit.
We have access to the thoughts of God.
Bill Johnson said the prize of all prizes is the mind of Christ. The greatest gift is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the greatest prize is the mind of Christ. It is seeing and thinking the way Jesus sees.
4. We are a new Creation
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
The word “new” here means “prototype” or something never before created. We are literally the first creatures to live on earth and in heaven simultaneously. So, we have a new mind and we have a new heart.
5. We are seated in Heavenly places with Christ.
Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) – and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Ephesians 1:20 (NKJV) – which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
Philippians 2 says that God has highly exalted Jesus.
Our heavenly seat gives us insight into the future. It’s like in Rev. 4:1 when Jesus said to John, “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after these things.” This isn’t a pipe dream. This is our reality—our advantage—our right of passage. Then we have an elevated perspective—a heavenly perspective.
6. Becoming a friend of God is a game-changer. It opens the door to encounters.
John 15:14-15 (NKJV) – You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
James 4:8 – Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Jeremiah 29:13 – And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Notice we transition from servant to friend by obedience, when we do this we are introduced to a realm of revelation that only Jesus walked in. We have access to all things that Jesus walked in.
7. 2022 stands for illumination or the Revelation of Light, so let’s be the light to the world
Matthew 5:16 – “So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”
Let’s wake up and own our inheritance! Whatever comes our way, let’s think bigger, think higher realizing the arsenal we have been given. Let’s walk out the challenges, struggles, the difficulties from a Heavenly perspective. Let’s us grab ahold of the revelation of solutions, creativity and the wisdom we carry in Jesus name! Go! Grab the territory of higher thinking.
We are alive in the Spirit—son’s and daughter’s of Jehovah God, endowed with wisdom, commissioned with power and given authority to make a profound difference in our world. It’s time we rise up to our high calling in Christ Jesus and start thinking like royalty!
