The Bible speaks of just a few of the blessings from the Lord that we can believe in. This scripture is a little long, but let’s plow through.

Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them. – Deuteronomy 28:10-14

Sounds good, right? Most Christians would shout “Amen” to receiving those blessings. Here’s what’s real: we need to understand that God means each of these promises to those who “heed His commandments, observe His word and not turn from it to the right or to the left.”

It’s kind of like “selective hearing.” A lot of wives claim their husbands suffer from this serious disorder. They hear what they want to hear and totally tune out phrases like “could you” and “would you.”

Some may have kids who suffer as well. Just like that, you and I can’t just read the parts of the Bible we like and only pay attention to that part.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17

If you want all the blessings God has for you, pay close attention to all of His word. It will bring you freedom, real life and transformation.
