TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am proud of who you are and excited to watch you grow to fulfill your destiny. Love others until the return of Christ. Especially those who don’t yet know they are part of our family.

SHOWING THE FAMILY RESEMBLANCE?

The book of Matthew was written by a Jewish brother to a Jewish people. In it, He reveals Jesus as the king and rightful heir to the throne of David. To present Jesus as king, he had to prove the bloodline.

Now, our Biblical worldview is actually from a “western lens”. We’re Americans, on top of that, we’re Texans, which makes us Americans on steroids. Amen.

Genealogy is key in Matthew. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt Christ was a direct descendant of the house of David. Some people might tell you, “You look just like your mother,” or “You get that from my dad.”

Jesus, like David, was a man after God’s own heart. He displayed all the characteristics of a selfless-king who put his people’s needs first.

That’s what genealogy is all about – family resemblance. So, let me ask you this: as part of the family of God, are you displaying any of your heavenly Father’s traits? Are love, mercy and forgiveness seen in your life? It should be your daily goal to look more and more like your Daddy. Chew on that for a minute.

Friend, if you have surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ and asked Him to be your Lord, you are in the family! You are loved by our Father, more than you know. Act like it. When you do, you look like Him too.

“Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?’” – John 14:9
