REDEEMING YOUR TIMELINE: Part 1– The Holy Trinity

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

There is ONE God with three separate parts:

The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit

The life-giving side of God is the Father (God for us).

The creator and the ONE who rules over creation is Jesus (God with us).

The empowering person is The Holy Spirit (God in us).

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.

4 In Him was life, and that life was the Light of men.

5 And the Light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

The creating, transforming side of God is Jesus

Genesis 1:1-5

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

John 1:3

All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning (Time) God created the heaven (Space) and the earth (Matter).

Jesus can change, manipulate, reverse or completely transform matter–all matter, any matter.

Jesus can change, manipulate, reverse or completely transform space and distance–all space, any distance.

OMNIpresence

Power over distance: John 5:49-50

Later, a royal official came to Cana to ask Jesus to heal his dying son in Capernaum, about twenty miles away. Without moving, Jesus told him, “‘Go back home. Your son will live!’”

He healed the boy from a distance.

His disciples gathered in a room, with the doors firmly shut because they feared for their lives, when “Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, ‘Peace be with you’” (John 20:19). Their beloved teacher, whom they had seen killed and entombed, suddenly materialized inside a locked room and greeted them! Lest they think He was an impostor, He showed them the nail punctures from His crucifixion and the spear wound in His side.

Jesus can change, manipulate, reverse or completely transform time–all time, any time.

Power over time: John 5:8

By the pool of Bethesda, Jesus saw a man who had been disabled for 38 years. The Lord commanded him, “‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!’”  It didn’t matter that the man had been lame for almost four decades; when Jesus said “walk,” he walked!

Psalms 139:3-6 (Passion Translation)

You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into the future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the hurt of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart blessings to me.

Psalms 139:24 (Passion Translation)

See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways – the path that brings me back to you.

Psalms 139:7-10 (Passion Translation)

Where could I go from your Spirit? Where could I run and hide from your face? If I go up to heaven (eternity), you’re there! If I go down to the realm of the dead, you’re there too! If I fly with wings into the shining dawn (tomorrow), you’re there! If I fly into the radiant sunset (yesterday), you’re there waiting. Wherever I go, your hand will guide me; your strength will empower me.

Psalms 138:8 – (Passion Translation)

You keep every promise you’ve ever made to me! Since your love for me is constant and endless, I ask you, Lord, to finish every good thing that you’ve begun in me.

All Time has 3 major parts––past, present and future

All Matter has 3 major parts—protons, neutrons, and electrons

All Space has 3 major parts––Height, depth and width
