Proverbs 13:22
A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous
When it says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous that means there is a supernatural principle of wealth transference. That’s not the same as the power to gain or create wealth. This is referring to how God positions His people for a hand off and moves something valuable from one person to another, from one people group to another people group, or from one generation to another generation.
On January 24, 1848, James Wilson Marshall, a carpenter originally from New Jersey, found flakes of gold in the American River at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Coloma, California. At the time, Marshall was working to build a water-powered sawmill owned by John Sutter.

Joshua 1:3
Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.

So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God fully.’
The word we translate as inheritance is found in the Bible 203 times:
something that is or may be inherited; property passing at the owner’s death to the heir or those entitled to succeed
A place given to you, passed down from someone before you. The purpose of the title and deed handed to you from someone else who has paid the price is to ensure your success in the life God has trusted you with.
With inheritance comes faith, hope and trust from the person who gave this to you.
THE TIMING OF PASSING OF INHERITANCE IS KEY

An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.

Hebrews 9:15

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF INHERITANCE
Leviticus 20:24
But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations…
When God fulfills purposes, He likes to do His great work through the understanding of inheritance and generations.
Matthew 1:17
Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
There are generational promises and purposes of God that are meant to be handed off from one person’s vision, faith, and heart to another person who is willing to pick up that mantle.
When you understand that God is going to hand off what you accomplished in this life to someone else, or maybe many other people, to fulfill something you can even imagine, you take the inheritance you leave behind extremely seriously. When you have no respect for God or what He accomplishes through the ages, you don’t.

A lawsuit filed by Posner’s estranged son alleges she was unduly influenced by house waitstaff when she bestowed $3 million in trust funds and her $8 million mansion to her three dogs, who presently ride to the pet spa each week in a gold Escalade.

This verse keeps our life goals, vision and legacy front and center when we’re choosing how to use our money today.
GOD IS SERIOUS ABOUT HANDING AN INHERITANCE TO YOU
1 Peter 1:4
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF MANTLES
The supernatural ability to finish what others have started and pick up what others have laid down.
Before Elijah was translated into heaven, he said; “Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.’” (2 Kings 2:9)
It was Elijah’s mantle which proved whether or not Elisha received his request.
Elijah told him; “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.’” (Verse 10)
Elisha did see Elijah leave in a chariot of fire. He then tore his own garment in two pieces and “took up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him.” (Verse 13) Thereafter, he also took up the work of his spiritual father and operated in his anointing.
Remember that Elisha asked for a double portion? And so it was. The Bible records twice as many miracles for Elisha as are recorded under Elijah’s ministry. Do spiritual mantles have a modern application? Can a spiritual mantle be passed today from one person to the next or one generation to the next?
There is a wonderful precedent in the New Testament for those who desire to press in tight like Elisha did to Elijah.
John 14:12
Jesus said; “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.”

- And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
