On Wednesday morning this last week, a powerful 5.7 earthquake hit Salt Lake City and rocked the Mormon Temple. On top of the temple is a golden idol, or a statue, of the fabled MORONI blowing a trumpet. The shaking actually broke the trumpet! If that was a dream do you know what that would mean? In case you don’t know, remember the earthquake was 5.7.

A few weeks ago, I taught a message called “Dreams that Get Your Attention” and I was talking about the importance of partnering with God in the midst of a terrible disturbance.
On Tuesday, the City Council voted to diminish assemblies to 125 and then Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order limiting public gatherings to 10 people, shutting schools, prohibiting visitors to nursing homes and retirement communities, and limiting bars and restaurants to take-out through April 3. All this was done in an effort to slow the spread of the Wuhan Corona Virus.
We didn’t know if that included churches or not. Is it 50 or 10 or 125? Outside in the parking lot, we are being the hands and feet of King Jesus… Dream interpretation, communion, prayer ministry and declarations are happening from car to car.

When God rearranges things biblically, that’s called a shaking. The nations have been shaken and when the nations are shaken it’s a God thing.
Psalm 82:5 – They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
Haggai 2:6-7 – For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land.
‘I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:21 – “Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, ‘I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.’”
Isaiah 13:13 – Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken from its place…
The voice of the Lord is upon the shaking of things.
Hebrews 12:26 – And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN.”
Psalm 29:8 – The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
WHEN THERE IS A SHAKING OF THE NATIONS, IT IS A GOD THING AND THE VOICE OF GOD IS UPON IT.
Isaiah 6:4 – And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke
SUBMIT TO GOD BY RESTING IN HIM
The land is being forced to rest!
The Sabbath year is defined in Leviticus 25:1-7. For six years Israel could plow, plant, and harvest. But the seventh year was to be different. On the seventh year you were not to plant your fields. Neither were you supposed to harvest them. Nor could you tend or harvest your vines. The land was not to be worked at all. You could, however, pick and eat what the land produced by itself.
Rest is partnership with God and an intentional posture of Trusting instead of trying
Rest is when you cast your cares and anxieties upon him as 1 Peter 5:7 says,
1 Peter 5:7 – …casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
“Trusting God means we give up worrying, reasoning, and anxiety and we enter into His rest with simple childlike faith—we live by grace through faith,” author Joyce Meyer
Change your wineskin by allowing God to change your priorities, methods and structures.
Jesus constantly challenged religious practices gone stale, their original meaning long forgotten and they’ve now become simply public ritual.
“You can’t put new ideas into old mind-sets. You can’t get new results with old behaviors.”
A new move of God will not be poured into old structures and models of ministries.
GET OUT OF THE WAY!
